The pullback on a bore, or directional drill, can be tricky when using 10” pipe. In this case, the pipe had to be strung through the woods to facilitate the pullback. The photos show the pipe rollers at work and are ample demonstration of some of the logistical challenges Linde faces when laying pipe over wooded and hilly terrain.
Since 2009, Linde Corporation has laid more than 50 miles of gas pipeline throughout the region. This includes approximately 10 miles of directional bores, which go under roads, mountains, streams, wetlands and other environmentally sensitive areas. Trenchless technology is crucial in this region. The photos below are from various points along a multi-mile project and demonstrate Linde’s range of abilities from clearing to restoration and all steps in between.
