“I want Linde to have a balance between growth and responsible stewardship of the land. I want to walk down the street and be proud of us. I want my daughters to move back here someday.”
Barbara Linde has been Secretary of Linde Corporation since 1982. She lived in Manhattan for years where she held positions in finance at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Benton, Bowles. Now back home with the family business, Barbara is a hands-on manager both in the field and in the office, involved in landscape design and implementation. In addition, she furthers Linde’s commitment to environmental protection and beautification, ensuring fulfillment of company pledges to industrial and environmental goals and organizations. “We need to tell people that we’re from the area,” she says. “We need to make them understand that we care about this area and the people here. I am a member of the Workforce Wayne Task Force and we’re creating a new persona for Wayne County and points north.” Barbara earned her M.S. in accounting at New York University; her AA in education at Keystone College and her BA in religious studies at Lafayette College.
