Larry Holgate is in Project Development for Linde Corporation. Larry says, “to develop a business, you have to find it. So I’m actually in sales.” Larry’s a pilot who, flying for Linde in 2006, noticed drilling rigs popping up in the Marcellus region. Larry offered Linde’s services to help the gas companies, resulting in Linde Master Service Agreements (MSA’s) with a dozen gas companies. “It was hours on the phone,” Larry recalls. “But it’s satisfying seeing business grow from one call.” Larry helped to develop transload facilities at Carbondale and Sayre, PA to serve the drilling industry. Larry has been involved in many businesses over the years. He began in plumbing, then took over a family refuse hauling business which he built up and sold to Waste Management. Along the way, Larry has spent more than 30 years flying. “I rewrote my story many times,” he says. “Now I’ve created my own little niche at Linde.”
