PAWC Water Line Upgrade, Luzerne County

PAWC WATER LINE UPGRADE, LUZERNE COUNTY

The Pennsylvania American Water Company (PAWC) has contracted Linde Corporation to provide upgrades to the water service of hundreds of Pittston Area residents.

Linde is installing 16,000 feet of 8-inch ductile iron water pipes.  This will also involve placing new fire hydrants.

Excavators dig out the areas where the lines will be laid.

In addition, Linde will install copper lines which will connect some 250 homes with the new water main.

After the 8-inch ductile line is in place, each section is pressure-tested.  Lines are placed under 200 psi for 2 hours to determine that the line is secure and holding pressure.

Linde then patches the areas which were excavated to perform the work.

After the patches, the areas are then rolled before another company does the milling and paving work.

This project for PAWC will take Linde Corporation approximately 4 months and will involve work in Pittston, West Pittston, Plains and Dupont.
